Vtr manifold

   Hi guys this may have been posted before but I couldn't find it...
   I have an 03 vtr and I think I'm going to fit a de cat manifold, if I fit the 4-2-1 will I have to move the oil filter? And will it go strait onto my stock centre piece will I save up for a supersprint? Thanks alot

   If you get a MK2 manifold - you won't need to move the filter.
   
   Not a big job to convert to mk1 set up though.
   
   And yeah it will meet up just fine

   Will it perform a lot better with the decat manifold? And would it fun even better with the supersprint centre piece and back box?

   Yeah it free's up the rev's slightly.. few ponies too.
   
   The noise is the best part though. POP's and bangs.. with rassssppp mmm.
   
   Centre section make's it a fair bit louder.. Well my 'race' centre did. Not a bad thing imo - but some people prefer less noise.
   
   EDIT: the best mod I ever did to my 8v.. was get rid of the gearbox. For a 1.1 gearbox.. That single mod made the most difference.

   Sounds good! Will it back fire? The gear box sounds good but I'm on abit of a budget! Really appreciate the advice though man

   Sometime's does yeah. Mainly pop's n bangs on the down-rev / changes up n down.
   
   Gearbox is a budget mod my 1.1 box cost me £20! Although I got lucky with that.. so expect to pay £40-60.. Had it 3 years / 30k miles on my 8v.. now it's bolted to my 16v! So they aren't as weak as people make out.

   How does the new box help? Is the gear ratio shorter?

   Yeah it's got a better final drive - so acceleration is helped alot.

   Did you change the gear box your self or did you take it to a garage? Can't wait to get my manifold lol hopefully will feel abit quicker

    Question : Are mk1 VTR and mk2 VTR mani/cantre section interchangeable ?

    Just wondering because i want to decat my mk2. Then i was thinking of getting a mk1 centre section(with the cat) to swap on for MOTs, as this will be easier than swapping the mani.
