right peeps, i've just been out to the saxo and making sure everything is ready for when my loom arrives, but i've noticed that on one side of the fuel rail it has a hole, i've done some research into this and i think a fuel pressure gauge is meant to be here? is this true as i dont know where my fuel return line goes onto?
FPR, with pics

#2if its a big hole then thats where the fuel pressure regulator is meant to be. its in the fuel rail on mk1's and at the fuel pump in mk2s
-
#3the engine is from a 2001 single plug mk2 furio and its in a mk1 1.1 ?
tbh mate i dont know whats meant to be on the end but i've read that its normally a fpr!
will get a pic up to show you were i mean! -
#4yeah was going to ask for a photo. i have a 2001 furio so i will go out and double check whats missing
-
#5here ya go: (please ignore the coilpack was trying to use old loom but couldn't so it will be off soon)

-
#6i remember now its meant to be a bleed nipple on the end of it

sorry for the crap quality. safer just getting a new fuel rail -
#9would i really have to get a new one? do you have a fuel line attached to that?
-
#10no it just ends. fuel return is only on the vts iirc if you turn the car over fuel might come out the hole at high pressure so put a bottle over the whole with a lot of rags etc to see if has already been blocked up
-
#11oh right, i have 2 fuel lines in mine and i know where one goes but not where the other goes! so just block the end off?
-
#12any one else know anyway to sort this out?
-
#13You need a remote fuel pressure regulator
All you have there is a feed from the pump and a return back to tank.
See this item
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/98-03-CITR...item3f179cd549
Thats what you need...the furio would of had this fitted above the tank, but you could fit it under the bonnet if you wish
Without a fpr the engine will not run, as you wont make correct fuel pressure -
#14so would that fit on the end and then i connect the return pipe to that?Quote:You need a remote fuel pressure regulator

#15Nah...
You would need a tee piece n the supply line... The fpr would fit between the tee and the return line.
As said before, you have something mssing from that fuel rail. If looking for a new rail... Then look for one off a 1.6 8v fitted to 106 1.6 xsi or 106 s2 rallye. They have a fpr fitted n them so your return line would attach straight to it1 user thanked this post: -

Down back of motor
Heater matrix feed and return

2 cable tied pipes are the feed and return for the heater matrix, one on right goes down to rhs block, thermostat i think...

#20what would you say i should do from the pic's ive posted mate?
-
#21the pipe gose to the bottom of the thermostat housing should be quite obvious?
the only saxos ive seen witha fuel return are the vts's and very early vtr's (so im guiessing all early 8v's had them)
what reg is yours? mine is an s reg and doesnt haev a fuel return so too 'new' -
#22tbh mate i'm still very new to this so im taking my time find out what goes where!Quote:the pipe gose to the bottom of the thermostat housing should be quite obvious?

my car is a 1999 V reg!
im just so confused why i got so many pipes and where they go! -
#23The engine came from mk2 furio which as said had fpr on the fuel pump, no fuel return line on these models.
