In germany and cannot find a vtr, all i can find are 1.1 the odd 1.4 and thats it. Iv seen some 106s also, can i use the drivers side driveshaft out of any of the above. Thanks Gunny

    I used a 1.4 shaft on my VTR/S a few times.

However on the driver's side of VTR/S They have a bearing/bracket what bolts to the engine, to reduce torque steer / imitate equal length shafts.

The 1.4 shaft is just 1 long shaft - it worked without any problem's though..

just make sure the end of shaft is the same as yours. eg tapered or non tapered - get them mixed up - and the wheel bearing fail's in the same day.

Thanks saxova, but i dont know wever mine are tapperd or no, iv not even got it out yet. Basically the cv boot has gone, and citroen said i had to get a whole new shaft ffsk whats the easiest fix for me to do. Im not that mechanically minded (yet) is it easy to do the driveshaft?

Hmm, Could you not get a garage to change the CV boot for you? - that way you'd keep the correct shaft with the bearing. Don't know how anal germany road rules are.. So might not like having a different shaft on, just a thought before wasting time/money

It's not a hard job to do the shaft.. You might swear/stress abit taking the 3 bolt's off the driveshaft bearing/carrier though. Right at the back of the engine.

This is difference between tapered / non tapered : http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...hlight=tapered
