to get the wish bone out the bottom of the strut you use a long metal bar to prise it down, i use a weight lifting bar hook it over the wish bone and under the car and step on the pole while hitting it with a hammer and it splits

Yeah dont use a ball joint separator, they fuck up the rubber gaiters on the ball joints, i learnt that the hard way! use a hammer and chisel or metal bar and smack the metal part of the wishbone downwards near the ball joint. dont hit on the actual ball joint.

i hit the bar which in turn forces the wishbone down easier than trying to swing a hammer in your wheel arch trying to miss the driveshaft/brakes/strut etc

Actually thats probably a better idea with the pole on the ground! didnt think of doing that. Hammer n long chisel worked for me though.

Another way you can do it...... Tie a ratchet strap or something similar into a loop around the wishbone and then stand on the part dangling down and it "should" prize it free. Depending on how heavy you are of course? Lol
