Had a new exhaust under a year ago including the cat. But at my mot they had to weld up a hole in the cat and once more. What could cause it to have a hole? My cars high as fuck not lowerd and I slow ryt down for bumps an that.
Why is there a hole

#2does it sound like its blowing, or did??
-
#3Mild steel doesn't hold up very well after 12 years +
-
#4But he states its only a year old ?
If i was you buddy look at your warranty as it may be two years and if so i would call them fuckers up ive had cats go quite common on other cars and my current one it seem is fucked at the moment as it failed the dreaded MOT however have never had any holes in any of them ? -
#5I had no idea about the hole until they said they had to weld it up, probly won't go there again for exhausts then tbh
-
#6have a look under the car to see if it actually has been welded up

#7They could be lying, my mum went to a garage once for the MOT and they didn't think i was looking and they jabbed a hole in the exhaust and then came in and said it would need replacing and would be £160. I marched in there and told them to fuck off and that i'd seen them practically hanging off of it. Told them if they don't replace it free of charge then i'll go trading standards with the footage from the camera in the garage that overlooks the MOT bay.
Check they've actually welded it and not just patched it up, if it's jsut patched up then take it down there and demand they do it properly if you've paid for the repair. -
#8I think some original exhausts have a small hole in them to allow water from condentation to run trhrough and not come out the tailpipe.
My 1,3 rallye had such a hole on the end backbox
