Can anyone tell me what this is, it moving a lot when I move the steering wheel.
The car vibrates over 100mph. I changed everything apart from this. Tracking has also been done.

Not 100% sure, but i think it's the rose joint or the steering column?

The bolt is moving a lot.

Do I just changed the bolt, or the whole thing.

    Is it hard to do?

Get another bolt mate from citroen, never done one myself tbh.
  6. #6
Can I not just tighten it?
  7. #7
you can try tightening it, nothing to lose by trying.
failing that just buy a new bolt, wont cost a great deal.

and i was told by my local motor factor it was a bearing for the steering rack, as this whole bearing went on my old vts but never got round to changing it....it got scrapped instead lol

Hi guys i tried to take of the bolts today, but it keeps spinning. I can't hold it from the bottom as there is a lack of space also the bolt from the bottom is round.

Sounds like the thread is stripped, either on the bolt or the tie rod connector. You really really dont want that bolt coming out! Same as the torx one that connects to the hydraulic ram!

If its moving just take the full lot off the end of the rack and work on it off the car. Any problems I have a powdercoated end that just needs the inner rack ends swapping into it.

Why do you need to be going over 100mph?...

What just take out the whole streeing rack
  23. #23
To take the rack off is pretty easy tbh gives more room to play with and it's only 4 bolts and a couple of pipes and the joint on the bottom of the colum
