*sigh* Gearbox/Gear Linkages Issue...

    Just got my car back from it's MOT and they fitted my Supersprint decat pipe back on after.
    Now I went for a drive to a friend's house and it did feel vibrating in 2nd as if the exhaust was resting on the gear linkages.
    Picked him up admittedly did chav it and ripped through from 1st to 2nd, then 2nd to 3rd and all was fine, or so I thought.
    Clutch down and gear stick wouldn't slide across to 1st and 2nd or 5th and reverse.
    Also, when the gear stick feels in neutral, the car is in a gear constantly, not sure which I think it's 3rd, as the gear stick moves a random amount from 3rd to 4th only and won't slide across, like sometimes it would only move forward and back a short amount, and sometimes it would move a massive amount, more than it would if it was engaged in gear.
    Had a look underneath to see if I could see anything and the decat pipe is upside down :/

    Any ideas here, gearbox fucked or gear linkages popped off or..?

    Picked him up admittedly did CHAV IT LIKE A BAWWWSSSS and ripped through from 1st to 2nd, then 2nd to 3rd and all was fine, or so I thought.
    Clutch down and gear stick wouldn't slide across to 1st and 2nd or 5th and reverse.

    did the garage take gear linkages off for any reason?
    sounds like they have put them back on wrong, i did this once on my vts and never had a neutral, everything was a gear lol.

    I doubt they've taken the linkages off as they weren't an issue with the MOT.
    No matter where I put the gearstick, be it 3rd, neutral or 4th (shifter won't go left or right for any other gears) it's always stuck in a gear, which I think is 3rd.

    Could this be from where I ripped it too hard into 3rd and the linkage has popped off?
    Is this definitely a linkage issue?
    There's no whining or grinding or anything when driving in the stuck gear or when moving the gear stick so..?

    take a look at back of engine, see if all 3 linkages are in place on both ends.
    sounds like gear linkage problems as i had it on vts when i put them on wrong lol

    I'll have a look tomorrow or Monday or something, got any pictures or anything I should be looking for in particular?

    just look for the 3 gear linkages to see if they are still attached on both ends. you cant miss them, they are 3 rods, 2smaller ones and a long one.

    Check linkages and that the decat isn't fouling them. If they've had the gearbox mount off for any reason and fitted it back on upside it'll catch the linkages

    This is how the linkages look from above, i realise my picture isn't ideal but its the only one i can find showing the linkages fitted in my album. You can see the 3 in the picture. Its hard to get them on wrong imo.



    As said check the mount as well and that the decat isnt fouling. I've got another picture showing my mount here

    Was the gear linkages in the end...
