Exhaust Fitting Info

   I have a MK1 Vts..
   
   Should there be a wire gasket between the Cat and silencer joint?
   I've taken it apart to see why it keeps blowing at the joint, the pipes are in good condition..
   
   only looking at the joint i would guessthere should be a wire gasket and its missing..
   
   
   Can anyone confirm this for me please?
   
   ( I have a 4 branch and decat to fit, just not ready to do this for a few weeks and exhaust blowing is pissing me off)

   there should be one between the end of the downpipe and the cat

   Ok cheers, I've added a drawing..
   I've had it apart 3 times now and refitted the clamp.
   Then after a day or two it blows again..
   
   I wouldn't mind but it roars...lol

   a gasket doesn't go there, use exhaust repair putty and clamp it back up, wait until it sets solid before driving the car though.

   I took it completly off, and fitted the decat at the same time.
   I didnt realise that it slipped up the pipe and clamped to the bulge.

   It's a metal ring that goes between you need mate that's why it's blowing go to citroen for one give your reg and they should sort you out they will show u ur exhaust system and you can show them which bit u need failing that go to a scrappy and split an exhaust it should have the ring in it
