    hi saxp
Ive recently brought a vw jetta mk5 TDI 2.0 SE
dont know if anyone could help me, but yesterday when my dad was driving back my jetta it wouldnt get past 40mph and when you put your foot down it didnt pick up at all, then when he slowed down for an island then went to pick up speed it felt like it didnt want to. Ive had it in the garage a few times with it holding back on power and they said it was a loom and swapped it over for a new one but it still held back now and then, so i took it back and then they put some diesel treatment into it and that seemed to cure it but now its come back but worse! Ive being saying its the turbo on its way out since the problem came along but the garage who warrant the car say no it isnt, does this sound like turbo failure to anyone else? sorry for the essay just need some help.
    thanks in advanced

Do you know when it was last serviced ie filters etc?

change the diesel filter, quite a few garages incl vw don't bother to change them. we had a vw toran in at work had 'full' vw service history, too fuel filter out and it was black as the night, i'm suprised it even ran. stupid really as these are easy filters to change. also whip the egr pipe off and see if thats blocked also.
