Thermostat Housing problem

   How do you get the thermostat housing open, I know you undo the 3 bolts but when I took them out I found I cant get the housing off because it is sealed on with I guess silicone sealant. Do I just get a flat-head screwdriver and pry it off or will this damage the housing?

   just wiggle it up and down till the seal breaks the plastic things are prone to breaking due to them becoming brittle after going hot

   Broke one on a dyno session - fucing nightmare. they're fragile as hell - be a bit careful but it should eventually come off

   haha cheers. If I get it off in 1 piece should I get some sealant for when I put it back on. If so which?

   regular silicone is fine

   My mate had to bray 3 screwdrivers between the housing and engine to get his off.
