Handbrake Sticking !!! GRINDING NOISE !!!

  1. #1
    Hi

I put my car in for a handbrake cable replace because mine was fraded and just not working. I booked it in and have had a new one fitted, BUT this is super tight and always rubbs, i think anyway and i can hear a grinding noise from the back where it has been fitted.

It only needs 1 or 2 clicks on the handbrake and the back tyres are always red hot, also can feel it pulling when im moveing.

What can i do to loosen it?? Any thing i can do to stop this rubbing??

    Thanks

sounds like either the pad are siezed in the carriers. the calipers are fubar, or whoever fitted the handbrake cable didn't de-adjust it underneeth the car but that would have made it a right pain to fit.

Cheers pal well he said it was a pain to fit i went back to the garage this morning and told them the issue they said there going to have a look on friday morning for me. On my way to work this morning my right side (drivers) rear wheel was sticking and red hot and looked at the disc and was like the blue colour and noise of grinding, could this be realted to there fault??

Yh it would be mate unless it turns out that the caliper has seized and if it's getting the disc that hot to turn it blue. You now need new discs and pads cause that will have fucked them both.

Well speaking of caliper i got them to check it last week when fault started occuring, and they came to the conculsion my rear pads was knaackerd so they changed them, and they said that will stop the grinding and also chnaged the handbrake cable on other side aswell.
