Oil Cap Leaking.

  1. #1
Oil sprays out over my inlet and drips on my exhaust from my oil cap, i was told there is a oil cap you can buy which isnt standard which stops this.

Has anyone got a link please? I have this one..http://www.spoox.co.uk/catalog/produ...48574ba3350769

    Is that the best one?

    Thanks, Max

Just looks like standard mate. + no mention of it being uprated or whatever..

Is the seal on your's knackered?

    JP4 cam covers are win.

That one you've posted is a 106 gti one....the later type, they do seem slightly better. I am slightly alarmed by this part though .... "Oil sprays out over my inlet" . It shouldn't be spraying out of your oil cap...

Yeah exactly, makes me think it's my rocker cover. It's not too bad but you can see where it's gone.

the caps rubber seal age and degrade - a new cap fixes it generally unless someone's had a bodge attempt a "smoothing" the hole in the cover or something moronic... As posted above, the plastic JP4 covers completely solve the issue, and a lot of people (myself included) think they look nicer/more modern. Worth investigating if that's tickles your fancy

Yeah I've now got the new design 106 gti oil cap and it's fine now. It really does seal alot tighter and is so much better. Also looks better. Well worth about £9.
