Clunking noise from rear of car

   Hi guys, just wondered if someone could help me out here, i've had a search but can't find anything conclusive myself.
   I've got a clunking noise coming from the rear of the car when I go over speed bumps and potholes, I'm assuming it's nothing serious but it's just annoying, and very audible even with music on loud! If anybody could suggest a few possible causes that'd be great, as i'm changing the exhaust on my car today so it's the perfect time to solve that issue too! Thanks

   Check if spare wheel cage is tight , have a look at your rear shock absorbers might need tightening or they need changing ,

   Thanks guys, spare wheel cage isn't on the car, removed that a while back with the spare wheel. Did originally think that was the problem but since that's been off the issue has persisted so i'll check the shocks shortly. Thanks again.
