EML After Stalling

  1. #1
Before i get flamed I have done a search without any results im after.

Basically, ive had my car a month, no problems atall. The girlfriend took it for a spin today with me as a passenger. She stalled just as she was driving into a parking space.

Restarting it, first attempt didnt seem to want to know really. Second attempt was fine and parked up and left the car for about 5 minutes.

Come back to the car, i drive this time and i notice the EML had just popped on.

Now, i dont really want to go to Halfords down the road and have to pay £50 for a Diagnostics test. Id rather buy a cheaper one on ebay. However in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas what it possibly could be? Is this normal? Will i be ok driving the car for a few more days?

Im contemplating phoning the AA and seeing if they could do a diagnostics at the roadside?

    Cheers

It started again after she stalled it, so doesnt sound like anything serious like timing been knocked out.

Probably put crank sensor code on.

Unplug the battery over night and try again tomorrow... and never let a female try drive your car again

Stalling put it on by the sounds of it. After about 5 normal restarts it will clear its self..

+1 its just that a sensor has sent too high/low voltage reading back to the ecu hence the light.
