overheating warning light

   working on this car - temperature gauage is registering ok but red warning light is on and electric fan is going. As far as i know this warning lights goes via the ECU. Any ideas on how to put light out and stop fan running?

   Depends on the which year saxo you have as some are controlled by the ecu,whilst others have a sensor on the radiator.

   no sensor on radiator, ecu model. have you any experience of this problem or any suggestions to solve it? many thanks cdd

   also check the radiator cap, to see if the seal if broken, mine did this and i got a new cap and bled the cooling system and it was fine.

   lee have also checked out cap and all good, have removed thermostat but light and fan continues to run even though car running well. i am baffled. cdd
