Would like to post a vid but my iPhone 3G doesn't record lol. My engine started sounding like a tractor, ASif something in the engine bay is ratteling on the engine is how I can describe it. Could it be my catalic converter ? Or my exhaust blowing somewhere under the engine? No loss of power or anything is just noticeable when I have the window down.

#2jack it up, start engine up and feel on the exhaust joints to see if its blowing.
-
#3scrap it!
-
#4usefull post NOT!!!

#5I see no point in scrapping a perfecty good running car with a minor problem. I'll jacket up and have a feel around then lol
-
#6sounds like exhaust at first guess. Check oil level too - just in case it's rattly on the bottom end.
-
#7I`d go with low oil.
-
#8My oil was between min and max Mark but I've drained and put fresh oil in with a new filter and still gettin the noise not checked the exhaust yet tho.
-
#9can you get a video up? We might be able to help from that
-
#10random misfire? running on 3 cylinders?
-
#12new set of plugs mate and check to see if their loose
-
#13Thanks for the sugestions found the exhaust where it connects to what I think is the cat has a massive gap and is blowing also noticed car stinks of fumes lol I suggest never go to b n m to get your exhaust done this is 5th time I'm goon back with a problem -.-
-
#14drive up to mine, i'll fix it for you
-
#15well spotted - pleased you've got it diagnosed. The clue was the smell of fumes - if you'd have mentioned that we'd have got you the answer yesterday

#16I have the same problem, got some holes in the front of my exhaust - makes the car sound like some pansy boy racer and I feel silly driving around!
can the front bit be replaced independently of the other sections of the exhaust? Looks like I'll need some a ratchet with a deep socket to get the bolts off -

#18If it's got holes and not under warranty take it to a garage and they will weld the holes won't cost much at all or it nut just need tightening. Luckily mine got sorted free lolQuote:I have the same problem, got some holes in the front of my exhaust - makes the car sound like some pansy boy racer and I feel silly driving around!

#19If you`re taking off the bolts wire brush them 1st then soak in wd40,just a tip.Quote:I have the same problem, got some holes in the front of my exhaust - makes the car sound like some pansy boy racer and I feel silly driving around!

#21there's a hole on top by the 90degree bent from where it comes from the manifold and across the bottom of the body so I'm assuming that's very tricky to get to in order to weld.Quote:If it's got holes and not under warranty take it to a garage and they will weld the holes won't cost much at all or it nut just need tightening. however I have an oil leak right now so perhaps welding isn't the safest thing to di -
#22Yeah it can be welded that's exactly where mine had a hole.
-
#23will proberly be easier to remove the section of exhaust that needs welding and weld it off the car
