Yeah they use the same mounts mate.

Just make sure you remove the immobilizer box before anything. (under the dash - near the fuses. black box size of 20 fags. have a search if you don't know where it is) Any mention of your new ECU being 'unlocked'?

Also, is the gearbox that is on your 1.1 in good working order? - if so put that back on the VTR engine.. make's the 8v much more fun to drive.

I believe you have to weld in one of the vtr mounts, but the actual mounts are all in the same places mate.

sweet, so is it a case of remove the immobilizer box and dont put it back in ? and is that what would re-lock my ecu. yeah mate its unlocked. and yeah my 1.1 box isnt really that old 1-2years. may have to have a play around. if an ecu isnt unlocked would you need the keys and ignition ? or more ? what more?

Yeah just take the immobilizer box off.. and don't put it back on. You are right, it would lock your new ecu.

if the ECU you bought is definitely unlocked - and the immob box is off - there won't be a problem..

If the ecu isn't unlocked, then yeah you would need barrel / immob / ecu - but saying that - i have the matching set - but the ecu is still locked.

So i'd unlock the ecu rather than changing the barrel
