keep cutting out!

Hi, i have a 2001 furio and yesterday it started coughing and juddering about and just cut out. it started again and drove for a while then kept juddering but i managed to get it home before it cut out. Seems like its being starved of air or fuel. At first i thought it could be a blocked air way or a new air filter needed so i checked the airways and replaced the filter to no luck! i was then advised to check the plugs so they've all been replaced today with no luck also! im thinking now maybe it could be needing a new fuel filter so thats being changed tomorrow! Anyone think of anything else that could be causing the problem?
    Thanks!

A coil pack can fail any time, don`t neglect to check the crank sensor & see if its firmly connected.

thanks for the suggestions! any way to test any of them to see if they are causing the problem?

although people are saying coil pack im saying fuel pump
you would drive for a short journey, and would cough splutter and start to lose power, and after a bit it will work again.

now to convince people to lend me parts of their car! lol. its slowly stopping these problems now but occasionally it still cuts out if that helps anyone know whats wrong? just every now and again itll cough! its annoying because after changing the fuel filter it stopped for a while then did it once and stopped again for a day so its not a constant problem! if that info helps anyone lol. thanks for all the suggestions aswell
