Okay I'm in a small dilemma, I'm going to be going boost and I have a vts engine in my garage and a vtr as my daily, has anyone ever ran just a decomp plate on a vts ? How much more un reliable will the s be than the r ? And what power will the vts run with around 7-8 psi ?Cheers
vts turbo or 8v turbo ?

#3Already have everything to boost my 8v
Garret t28
Intercooler
Boost pipes
Cituning manifold
Cituning down pipe
Oil feed lines
Megasquirt v3 ecu
Mocal oil cooler
Turbosmart boost controler
Just need a decomp but may sell my manifold and downpipe and go for the dp ones
Also budget is not an issue just don't want to spend that ammount on low comps and forged rods just to go in a saxo -
#4Why do you think the s will be more unreliable than the r?
Yes several people have run decomp plates with a vts. Others have just run two gaskets fine also.
Power wise on a vts with the above parts you may make 200bhp ATF.
You say budget is not an issue. Have you really factored in everything? Cooling? Drivetrain? Mapping etc?
so what is your end objective?Quote:just don't want to spend that ammount on low comps and forged rods just to go in a
