Just Changed the head for the very first time ever on my saxo for a recon one as it was knackered. Did so well and got the car running. After 20 mins oil started leaking out of the bottom of the cam belt cover. I had a new gasket and skimmed head. Could this be the camshaft seal and how easy are they to change

#2Problem solved the bloke I got the recon head from doesn't put the seals in

#3So you done all of that work but didn't put seals in? Lol
-
#4Well he told me the head was ready to go, just bolt on. Plus the sprocket was already on it so was easily missed

#5seals ftw

#6Oh how many times I've had to take a head half apart after forgetting to put cam seals in! Silly, silly mistake but not hard to sort.

#7I realise this is an old thread but hopefully someone will see it, I'm having a real hard time knowing how far to push the new cam seal in? The haynes makes it sound like all the way untill it seats against the back and online I am getting mixed answers? Anyone able to give a definitive answer?Quote:Oh how many times I've had to take a head half apart after forgetting to put cam seals in! Silly, silly mistake but not hard to sort.
Thanks,
