Engine whistle

Just fitted new head, drive belt and timing belt etc. car started and I get a slight whistle from the cambelt side when the car is revved. Is one of the belts too tight?

Sounds like cambelt is to tight mate, who done it?
  3. #3
or a cheap cambelt. What brand was the belt?

could be a duff waterpump or even the tesioner mine does this but it isn't too tight, and had a new waterpump (firstline one) don't rate them at all. was a full gates kit, been doing cambelts for a while now, mines been fine done a fair few miles with it like this,

could be water pump when you replace head gasket ansd belt you normaly replace the water pump

id check its not too tight then move from there

normally too tight...or you havent replaced a vacuum pipe properly

I used the old tensioner, I had the head gasket replaced and it was fine. But it was the head that was damaged so I changed the head straight after so can't see how it will be knackered. This is the same for water pump. I got MOT next Wednesday so I think I'll leave it till then lol

You shouldn`t really use the old tensioner mate.
