Cracked alloy wheel on inside... repairable? or replace?

    Was preparing the car to have a driveshaft replaced tomorrow.. and found this!
    The alloy is cracked and curbed on the inside.
    is this repairable? would it be safe? how can it be repaired?

    Or shall i just replace it...

    It's a ford fitment 15" pro race 1.2

    I can weld it up for you and make it so it seals but to be truthful I would get a new wheel. safer in many ways and also you know you wont get a blow out at speed.

    Edit. looking at the pics closer mate its a deffo new wheel needed there are hair line cracks all around it so I wouldn't want to weld it.

    Oh right thought so! much safer to get a new one.
    It's just someone told me i could possibly bond it? But i'd rather get a new wheel anyway... best being safe than sorry. thanks

    Only one way to fix a crack and that's with aluminium weld. But as said above heat in a aluminium weld makes a weak spot and with that many hair lines once done the wheel wont be very strong.

    easily repairable. cost me about £60 to fix a Compomotive MO6 after a pot hole.

    Could probably buy a second hand single wheel for that price though.. it's just finding one on it's own

    yeah how would you fix that? cant fill a crack with that much weld and the integrity of the wheel still intact unless you put the full wheel through a heat cycle and by the time you do that then the repair has cost more than the wheel is worth.

    Seeing as you live in Leeds, just go down to see Richard at Rising Sun Motors at Copley Hill, he'll sort it.

    If you dont want it fixing then buy a new one. simple.

    In all fairness my Comp MO was about £250 a corner and alsohad a refurb in Antharcite so it was cheap for me. My crack was also bigger, my tyre went straight down flat.
