   Would that cause oil to seep out under the car and would that affect my gear changes on the way up? Changing up the gears I hear a sort of loud snick from under the car when I release the clutch. Just on the up change anyway.

   sounds like you need new seals , not a driveshaft, if you're leaking gearbox oil.
