Fitting 106 GTI interior but I have a Issue, Please Help !!!

  1. #1
    Hiya Guys

I Have Purchased a Full Set of 106 GTI interior and intend to fit in My Saxo Furio but I come across some issues.

First is I have noticed the Drivers Seat of the 106, the plug is missing from the Orange Cable that controls the Airbag Light. Can I cut and splice the plug on My Orignal Furio Seats to the wiring on the GTI Seat ?????

And Secondly, My Orignal Furio Back Seat is a full length solid back seat which is fitted by 2 brackets 1 either side of the edge of the seat where the GTI rear Seat is a Split seat and has 3 brackets of the seat to bolt down, I have checked my car and there is no Holes to bolt the middle bracket down, do I need to drill my own holes to the bodywork???

Please help with these 2 issues.

    Thankyou

first issue yes you you can cut wire an solder it back together no problem.

second issue not really sure but i guessing you will haveto drill your own holes for the seats or try change the brackets. but i say u will have to drill holes dont think you'll be able to swag brackets but worth lookin at before drilling holes in your car

    Cheers.

The the end brackets are the same as my furio ones so it's a case the 2 bolts on each side but it's the middle bracket that I need to sort out, the middle bracket is attached so the seat can't be separated but the bracket has 2 small hole where I am assuming bolts to the floor of the car. Think it's a case of drilling 2 small holes and bolting them down, need clarification first

Just take the wire from your old seats and plug it into the new ones and for the rear bench you need 2 more hinge brackets for the bottom pieces and a clip for the bottom. All the extra holes are already there

I already have some metal hinges in the middle keeping the seat together, do these bolt straight to the floor or do I need something else? If I need something else there can I get it from please

All holes are there already, may be plugged with plastic caps, very easy to change over. Just have a look.

    Quick guide

Top part of rear seat: the two brackets at each enf with 13mm nuts then bracket in middle lines up with two holes plugged up with plastic that need pushing through and then a 10mm bolt will fit in

Base of rear seat: on split ones there needs to be 4 hinge brackets but you already have two. Then you need to move the clip bracket from the middle to one side then get another for the other side

    Hope that helps

I know bout the 2 side brackets which bolt with the 2 nuts but in the middle where it splits its Held together by 2 triangular looking brackets which have one hole in each, checked my car and nowhere is there a place to screw the centre too or fit an additional bracket! Is it just coz ita a 1.4 and the split seat was there from standard?

Will upload the pic of the bracket

I know what bracket you mean and there will be holes for it i have put gti seats in my 106 1.1 and both my saxo 1.4s

Also the centre bracket is just one bracket that connects each half of the seats the holes have a black plastic bung in them and they may have been painted over so if you line the bracket up and have a poke about with a screwdriver you will find the holes

Cheers mate, that what I've been thinking but there might aready be some holes there but can say until I remove the standard back seat

get a picture up of your floor under the back seat, its quite unheard of to not have any holes in the middle...

as for your wires, to be sure the airbag light doesnt come on just use your existing wires from the original seats.
this involves replacing the seat belt buck/pretensioner with it.
Very easy though, on the side of the seat underneath the plastic cover, theres just one bolt holding it on

just fyi (not involved in original query) but if you DO end up drilling, be EXCEPTIONALLY careful - the fuel tank is right behind that bulkhead you're drilling into...

    Cheers for your help guys.

Had a quick look this morning before work (and in the light, LOL) screwed the 2 screws from one side of rear seat, lifted it out abit and noticed one grey bolt thats bolted in the floor pan but it's not bolting anything down. Do you think that might be one of the bolts for the centre hinge ????

The threads stuck out of the floor are for the clips to mount to that hold the base of the seat down

...... Finally got the rear seats in.

The 2 bolts on the end of each corner screwed into the stick out threads and as I thoughts removed the single bolt that was in the floor pan that didn't seem to secure anything and it lined up to one of the holes of the centre bracket and it secured the middle bracket. Only thing I've noticed is 4 brackets are used for the base part but I only have 2, still hasn't affected the fitting.

Just Need to know now how to fit the 2 front Seats, Any Help and Pics ????

    Thanks for all your help

Did you have any trouble fitting the 106 the door's handle on the Saxò?

    The one on the left:

    Thanks in advance.

The handles just pull off then unhook the metal bar from them pretty easy :-)
