Hi all, I've read the FAQ in this section but still a little confused, the brakes are nearly worn to the bone on my VTS and they were shite when they new! I've heard rumours that 306 GTi calipers, carriers, pads and discs are a straight swap onto the VTS? Is this true? Cheers
Brake upgrade on VTS, does anything bigger fit straight on? 306GTi?

#2Search is your friend
But yes those and others are a relatively straight forward swap -
#3search dude... covered many many times....

Yes - lots of options available. 306 gti-6, 307, 406 coupe brembos (check wheel clearance).
However, unless you're doing track days etc you'll likely be fine with (uprated) standard sized discs and a decent set of pads, rather than going bigger. All bigger really does is reduce fade - if your standard brakes can lock up the wheels at any speed, they're good enough.
Change discs, pads and fluid, and see how you get on with those first tbh. If you want sharper brakes, you could then try a master cylinder upgrade (to 23mm from a 406 etc) and braided front hoses. -
#4I have run a few searches but still have a few questions; Do I need new carriers? Or just the calipers, discs and pads?
