So the one closest to the bottom with the square head is the drain bolt but how do you get to the top up?

They are both square head, to fill it up you have 3 options.....
Fill it into the fill up hole on the left side till it starts to drip out of the filler hole.
Or you an take that plug out and fill it through the reverse sensor on the top of the gearbox till it dribbles out
Or do the same as above but don't remove the fill plug and make sure its empty and you fill it with exactly 2 litres of gearbox oil

So can i take the bottom square head bolt out to drain it, and then take the other one out on the side and put 2L in it?

bottom is to drain, middle is to get the level correct, & I fill from the top

Ive emptied it so can i just pour oil back in through the level check bolt till it starts to come back out?

Failing that wheres the proper fill up bolt located at the top

As above. Remove middle and bottom plug - drain from bottom plug.
    Replace bottom plug only.
    Remove reverse sensor.
Fill with gearbox oil slowly until oil comes out middle plug.
Recap middle plug, refit reverse sensor.

    Wheres the reverse sensor though?

or through oil breather on top, which is what i did when i realised i had no funnel

but as said, the bolt thats inset furthest and at the bottom of the box is the drain plug. the fill plug is directly in your face if you're sat down looking at the box.

its an 8mm square section, same as the oil sump.

I thought that was the level check bolt can you just fill it through there till it comes back out? This is the reason for this thread... theres so many different ways im so confused haha

    one and the same bolt

just drain from the bottom one, do what you need to do, then stick that bolt back in (they're magnetic so wipe any shavings off with a rag) then slowly fill it up through the top bolt. or if you're feeling lazier, undo that bolt, take the breather cap off the top of the box and fill it through that until it starts leaking out

You can fill it through the level guage plug yes, thats how I did mine, but I had a big syringe to do it with, hence why most do it through the reverse sensor which is on top of the gearbox with a funnel. Which is what I said before, the picture shows you everything.
