1.1 exhaust pipe on vts

What is the diameter in a 1.1 exhaust the pipe from down pipe back

I was think of putting a 1.1 on a vts as they're £20 on eBay
Instead of £30-40 on decat pipe will it make it slower if it's a smaller pipe

Should imagine it wouldn't be a bigger bore.

The diameter of a 1.1 (and 1.4 I think) 'Centre' pipe is 45MM.

The diameter of a VTR/ VTS is 50MM.

It obviously wont fit because of flange sizes.

How did you manage to do that? Did you weld it into place or something?

Was the diameter of them the same? I thought it was a inch & half on a 1.1 and 2 inch on Vtr/s

    same size flanges

    different size bore

    Might restrict it slightly..

I'm not having a dig here...

When my Sportex exhaust fell off I ordered a Kam Racing one.

I tried fitting the Kam Racing one to the OEM centre section and the flange size's wouldn't fit. I rung Kam Racing up to explain my problem and he clearly stated the exhaust isn't made wrong, you must have a 1.1 Centre Pipe fitted onto the Sportex.

It wasn't until I took the centre pipe off I could see that the Sportex had rusted at the weld and this caused it to fall off. Kev knew what my problem was and told me over the phone, he knew his stuff. This is why I'm wondering if you guys know the facts or are having a stab in the dark?

i had a OEM Vtr straight onto my 1.1 center pipe without issues, your center pipe looks dodgy at the end where it sits.
