Wheel bearing or gearbox?

   Right guys im abit unsure what the noise is my saxo is making.
   
   It was making a thumping whirring noise this morning everytime i took a corner over 40, and was worse when i turned left. So i checked my drivers side wheel bearing when i had the time and it was fine.
   
   Thought i would wait until later to drive and see if its still doing it, yet this time after about a mile it was thumping as i was driving straight and on corners. Abit further down the road it was squealing quietly.
   
   I'm guessing it cold be my passenger wheel bearing but is the any chance of it being my gearbox on the way out?

   check the gearbox oil before replacing it ?

   CV joint going? Does it do it when you're off the power in a corner? If not, but it does when you get on the power in a corner I would suspect CV joint.
