Air bag warning light!

  1. #1
I have done a quick search and had a read around before anyone says anything!!!

MY air bag light is flashing all of the time, with the new MOT regs is it okay to take th bulb out or will this be a fail as there is a "broken" dash light?

If so, what size resistor do i need to put in the system?

Ive got an aftermarket wheel fitted by the way and there is no air bag for it to fail on.

    Thanks

Technically it should be a fail, unless you find a 'friendly' tester.

If not then it will fail! As for the resistors, i cant help you other than a guess at 2.5 ohm.

Yeah taking the light out the dash is a fail but a 2ohm resistor will do the job just fine. Its only recently that the airbag light became a fail. Its not a fail if you can argue that its a road legal rally car

I was hoping that the" the air bag light is on, but as there is no air bag in/on the car it is impossible for there to be a fault with it" argument. Might just have to go to a loacl MOT station and ask them.

    thanks for the replies
