knocking on drivers side????

    Got a mk2 vts it has a knocking when turning left and right from the driverside. I have had the car jacked up but can't seem to find anything track rod, whell bearing and balljoint all seem fine any ideas?

    Sometimes where the ball joint goes through the strut - that can be worn / the balljoint have a tiny bit of movement in the strut which causes the knock..

    Just grab the wheel and try to move it -

    Driveshaft. Grab it and give it a wiggle.

    Don't think its the ball joint but will check thabks mate

    100% not the driveshaft. If yiu can imagine siting still in the car and just turning the wheel left and right its knocks it head off from the driverside

    Not the actual ball joint mate - the hole in the strut can be worn from older balljoints, I got new bolts and really tightened them - rarely get a quiet knock now

    Thanks mate will get some new pinch bolts and give it a try

    Strut top bearings could be rusted to death?
