Important! : temp gague goes crazy?

    had a problem with radiator with air lock i sorted that out and now my temp gauge goes wierd, i start car drive and it goes way up to the top and red light switches on, and then it cools down abot and after 10 mins it sits ar normal ? and sometimes drops alittle ? please help its so confusing
    its only just started happening?

    This happened to me it turned out i had a leak in one of my radiator hoses so it wasnt pressurising the coolent system meaning it wasnt cooling the engine down

    ive got a 52mm plasma display dial with top hose and sensor bought seperate for £15 posted if u interested

    Replace the temperature gauge sensor on the thermostat.

    do you recan it is actually overheating or just faulty gauge or sumin ?

    I reckon its a faulty sensor.

    do you know how to get at this and replace it as im a novice also i kept loosing water slowely very slowely so i put some k-seal is it in and hopefully it stops leaks but just confusing how it goes crazy on the temp gauge

    You take a 19mm deep socket(after unclipping the plug)Take the old sensor out quickly & screw in the new one.Iirc its the blue sensor on the thermostat housing just go to either citroen main dealers or eurocarparts give them your reg & they`ll sort you out.
