oil breathing for mild setup

Ok, i have read almost all the threads about oil breathing, oil catch tanks and so on... An I still have questions.

I am still not sure weather I need to get oil vapors into inlet or not?
Is the impact of contaminated mixture really noticeable at all? In terms of lowering octane number and lower performance?

The engine is stock VTS with breathing mods (OE airbox), mild cams and programmable ECU will be added.

    My options are:
Keep the standard layout (that is what I am leaning to)
Make oil catch tank and connect the exit pipe to the inlet
Same but with the breather air filter on the exit

as you say - oil vapours are effectively making the engine eat its own waste. Its probably extremely marginal on a mild setup but at least it will keep your inlet tract cleaner and its convenient and easy to fit a catch tank. I'd get one fitted to be honest - a breather just with a filter on the end will make your engine bay messy after time
