Help!

    Hello all,
Hoping you can help someone with limited car knowledge! I have a saxo 1.1, 2001. Its been fine since i got it 10mths ago, but recently, i have noticed that when i park up (on a steep hill, pointing downwards) the rear end is no longer rising up when i apply the handbrake. Its been for a full service recently and i mentioned this to the mechanic, who couldn't find anything wrong. But something cleary is, if it was rising at rear and isn't now.

It does squeak a bit at the rear when i push down on it, when parked.

For note, when i'm parked on flat surfice, its looks fine. The car feel fine when driven, oh and its not been lowered!

    Thanks
    A

Your car wouldnt necessarily 'raise itself' when you apply the handbrake.
This is usually caused when you are facing up a hill and apply the handbrake, because the car tries to move backwards, thus lifting the rear.

Hope this helps, nothing to worry about.

the car shouldnt raise up when you pull the handbrake.
as said above, if you pull the handbrake when the car is rolling backwards, it will raise its arse a tad.
