impressions after camming a VTS

Done a lot of search about cams, but no one describes their subjective impressions on the increase in performance

Talking about mild cams: 708/743, ph3 and so on...

Do you really feel the car became faster? How much? Much difference on roads? On track (improved times)?

PS Wanted to find some racelogic stats, but everyone here seems to time acceleration with stopwatch and speedo

I've been in a mates standard vts, been in a mates stripped out 106 with a c2 vts engine running 138bhp, though that was very fast until I went in a mates 106 rallye with ph4 cams, my God that was fucking fast! Shit all over those other two cars I've just mentioned

cams are subjective because you tend to lose all the progressive power standard cams give, and get "what you get" in a much narrower band of power, giving the impression of more power.

In effect, let's not forget you're getting a 10% power hike or thereabouts. Filling the tank with fuel costs you about 10% power, so if you actually notice the extra power is technically debatable. You certainly notice the cams are there though, based on how they come in, like I say.

Spent a fortune on My engine, jp4 engine with p&p head, ph3 cams, ported throttlebody, lightened flywheel ect... End result after mapping couldnt really tell much difference, it was fast but nowere near what people on the forums say there like. If i had another one, keep it standard with a exhaust
