Ebay Parts..

I had a dodgy wishbone ball joint a year or so ago.
I Replaced it with an ebay one. Seemed OK at first, cost me about 60 quid for the whole wishbone.

Do ball joints go easily, as I seem to go through them like sweets lol. It might be down to the shit roads around B'ham.

I really have (whilst owning this VTR) realised that you get what you pay for, as the ball joint has play already. Resulting in knocking.

Just wondering if you guys have had bad experiences with Ebay parts.

Also, are the parts direct from Citroen much more expensive. I suppose price is the reason people use ebay.

Indeed ebay stuff is bad, balljoint from citreon is £55 on its own.
Try uniparts euro car parts etc though there parts ant much better.

direct from citreon yes, i rang for a lambda sensor a few weeks ago, almost choked when he said 140 + vat!

i have a set of wishbones from ebay, were honestly spot on quality, on 4 month and still going well. touch wood lol.

Ive used FAI ones before with no problems.
I guess its just easier to spend £40 every so often rather than finding someone with a press, but I reckon they should last longer than a year. Are your dust covers over them actually keeping the crap out?

No idea mate. The original one ( which i imagine is genuine ) is still going OK. The one i replaced is pissing me off. Feel a crunching / knocking under my feet when braking and going slowly on uneven ground.

I know its the ball joint cause its popped up on the MOT. Slight play in balljoint. Its the same knock i had before.

You could have just been sold a dodgy one, carspares in brum usually have them on the shelf. Personally i'd do two at a time just to know both sides "match up" so to speak

If i had of done that i'd probably have two dodgy ones now lol.

Ill sort it. Suppose its not the end of the world but I do wonder if its the constant battering from the roads that fucks them up.

Best parts i ever had off there were two drive shafts for 90 quid from .... J&R shafts, i think it was ?

Some driveshaft company in Brum. Even the mechanic was like, fuckinhell, good these are for 90 quid. Absolutely brilliant quality parts.
