will a mk1 vtr cat midsection fit a mk2?

    Want to know if any one out there has ever put a mk1 vtr cat underslung midsection onto a mk2 vtr from the manifold if its been decatted and runnin a 4 branch? I need to put the car through an mot and just thought this would be easier than takin the manifold off and movin the oil filter again! I recently bought the car but it only has a 4 branch onto a straight through midsection and backbox!, just wish to know if i can swap the midsection for a mk1 catted pipe section. Has anyone done this before and the car gone through an mot? Many thanks

    Defo m8 got the same setup on mine at the min normaly a 4.2.1 decat straight throught pipe so yes you can with no probs

    damof85, so many thx for that mate, really appreciate it. Do you need to bother reconnecting up the lambda's? as there are 2 on a mk2 and just 1 on a mk1 vtr! what did you do? cheers

    I just tied mine out the way untill I can get a sleeve for it still runs a ok
