Choice of gearbox

    My gearbox is on its way out and was wondering what one i should put in my VTR now that i have a choice...

    I heard that a VTS one will increase acceleration slightly, is this true?

    So yeah, what one do you guys recommend i put in my VTR?

    1.1 or vts box mate

    Go for a 1.1, cheap and close ratios.

    the vtr the 1.5d and the 1.4 petrol saxo boxes are crap long ratios

    short of it all

    vts is a little better on acceleration but not hugely noticeable
    s2 106 rallye/1.6 XSI is a very nice choice on an 8v (had one on mine) little shorter than a vts does accelerate well
    then we have the 1.1 box slightly shorter but the weaker diff allthough a lot of guys have no problems
    the 1.4 XSI box little too short for an 8v imo for road use awesome on track allthough changing gears a lot haha
    s1 rallye which really i think is too short for most things

    if i had the choice id get an s2 rallye in your shoes

    I concur with the above, I had an s1 rallye box on mine an I wouldnt recommend that in a low revving 8v road car
