PAS and Gearbox?

   Ive got a loud high pitched squeal when i start the car from cold and move the wheel slightly, if i let the car warm up though, i dont get this problem, and it seems to go after about 10 seconds of driving. Is my PS pump on its way out?
   
   Also, from around 20-15mph deceleration theres a slight high pitch whirr, is this common or is my box on its way out too?

   The pas pump on a saxo is electric & not belt driven,the sqeel is more than likely from the drivebelt.

   does it whine when cruising at low revs?

   No mate the alternator drivebelt,although I know the timing belt/tensioner can be noisy too.

   Yes and no, its not really that noticeable, but anything up to around 20mph and i can hear a whir, accelerating or decelerating. After 30 it seems to stop :\

   It was the alternator belt, it had slipped slightly, i didnt think it would be that due to me just fitting a new alternator and it all being fine :L
   
   The drone is in deceleration only :\ if its a box, how hard is it to replace or fix?
   
   Also, my handbrake light keeps flickering whilst driving, loose connection?
   
   Another thing is a slight knock on the front end, like maybe bushes, just a clunk not a grind, wishbones worth replacing?

   yeah mate, knock is usually the front wishbones being worn.
   
   does sound like gearbox. It might just need topping up with oil. Have a look in there and try adding some oil.
