PAS VERY Loud

   Ive just refurbed my pas pump as it had seized, the brushes had seized and one was broken. It works amazingly well but after a day or two it has become very very loud. You can hear it spinning above everything its ridiculous. It stops making the sound if you turn the wheel but when not moving the wheel it whirrs up again.
   
   All fresh fluid.
   
   Any ideas?

   i think the pump get louder the older they are, mines the same, waiting for it to die so i can buy new 1

   mine is silent and ive never heard a loud one so cant really help.
   may be of use, i had a power steering pump on a sierra screaming at me and it was becuase the pipe suppling the fluid return was nipped.
   take the pump to bits and have another look, check everything is as it should be.

   When my old one started to whine like a girl i took a mallet to it.. That shut it up for the next 16 months till i sold it.

   I will check all the pipes etc today and maybe a swift mallet strike.
   
   It just sounds like its over working and has a lot of strain on it. I may have somehow created a supercharged pas pump since refurbishing it as it works too well haha
