The drivers side seat belt on my vts has stopped working. Its locked so I cant pull it at all and strap in. Seems to have jammed some how. How do I fix this? Currently driving around with no seat belt, only a matter of time before i get stopped, or die. Thanks

#2The whole post was serious. Right up to the last comment. Then I had to lol. LolQuote:The drivers side seat belt on my vts has stopped working. Its locked so I cant pull it at all and strap in. The seatbelts are pretty sensitive to being tilted -worth removing it from behind the trim and knocking it about a bit. Failing that, a replacement would be very easy to source. -
#3Fit a harness job done...

#4the seatbelts have to be in a certain position to work, also if the belt goes to far in, it will never work again, get one from a scrapyard, easy to fit
-
#5if it has locked and wont come out you can remove the cover off one side then remove the locking mechanism and it will pull all the way out
-
#6Cheers, what tools will I need?
-
#7A flat head to pop the side off.. O shit.. after you've taken the panel off ( i forget everyone's car isnt stripped )
I warn you now that on 1 side it's all spring loaded - take this off and it'll go flying everywhere.
The side you need to take off has little lugs (purple on mine) then you pull the ball bearing thing out - pull seat belt out and refit. -
#8Yeah I did the wrong side on an old set of mine before fitting the black ones, almost took both eyes out!Quote:A flat head to pop the side off..

Just need a screwdriver, can't recall if you need any tools to take the rear doorcard off or not, think they are just clipped on with no torx bits -
#10Taken it off, have undone it all.. Can see the the rachet is buggerd, is really sensitive and keeps locking shut. Anyway I can fix this or will I have to get a new one? Also, how do I get it out the door card without breaking it? Gaps too small

#11getting a new one would be the easy option tbh. Be about a fiver from a scrappie.Quote:Taken it off, have undone it all.. Removing it - once it's all off completely (at both the mechanism and free end) the free end does fit through the slot in the door card - wiggle it in there and you'll see
-
#12Oh yeah cheers, got it through now. Right I'll call around and try and get one. Door cards a bit of a pain in the arse to get back on proper

#13I know this sounds silly but what's the point of having that annoying ball bearing mechanism? it still works as it should with out it. the only thing i can think of is that its in case you roll your car, that way the seat belt would not be at the correct angle and lock its self?
