gear box problems

   OK so i believe my gear box is on its way out, sounds like the clutch release bearing but its had a new clutch kit already, also when in rolling up to a junction and you put it in 1st keeping the clutch down you can hear a slight wearing/grinding sound as it comes to a stop.
   
   anyone else had a this problem and what was causing it??
   
   if it is my gear box and it needs a new one what box should i go for?
   some people say a 1.1 others say the vts.
   worth noting i have a mk2 vtr

   The whirling thing happens to me in first, iv had two gearboxes both done it

   Don't know if it has anything to do with this but when i use to drop a gear there was like a high pitch squeal? Later on that day it just like stopped?

   Before you remove the box at all, would be a good idea to check driveshafts. Drivers side can come unseated easily and make a noise, especially if you don't have a driveshaft carrier.

   yehh its when droppind down gears, 1st loudest 2nd not far behind, its had 2 new driveshafts and made the noise before and after.

    we also repair and refurbish gearboxes if that is the issue

    how much to referb one? also would i not be best to go for a vts box?
