Driveshaft change prices?!

  1. #1
Just wondering if anyones had their driveshaft changed by a garage and how much they charged? Went out a brought a new shaft, but with redecorating all my flat i just haven't got the time or energy. Just don't wanna get ripped off. So whats the base price i'd be looking for? cheers

it's two lazy hours work really, so with parts supplied, probably around £120 I'd take a stab at. Best of course to phone some local garages to be sure obviously, but one driveshaft really isn't a big job.

Not a hard job really. Some small garage should welcome the work

hey - I didn't PAY that I'd do it myself

I'm just thinking about how long it takes. It's an hour or so really, so call it two hours inc a cup of tea, chatting etc, and times that by your garage hourly rate (£50 per hour?) - there's a ton.

Slip a local cash in hand and a reach-around, and it can be considerably less I suspect

not thought about getting a haynes manual and giving it a crack yourself?
if you have tools etc. available and you're somewhat mechanically minded that is...

I probably would have no issue doing it myself. . but like i said, got a lot atm . . and my weekends are pretty full before they even come. So i'd rather get it done there and then and carry on with some other crazy flat shit my other half wants me to do lol
