Engine Conversion

  1. #1
This is really random, but for some reason interesting me...

Is it possible to do a 1.1 conversion to a vts engine?
What would need doing, replacing and what cost would you be looking at?

Just got on my mind being at traffic lights next to some complete wanker thinking ha its a 1.1 i will destroy it, not realising its got a muthha fooka of an engine underneith.

Thought it would be something different too. Tried the search but nothing came up, must be words i was using or its just a complete DONT.

(i know its probably guarenteed to be cheaper to buy a VTS but im still interested.)

Yeah, i notice loads of people wanting to to VTR to VTS conversions, just never noticed one wanting a 1.1 convert. Just wondered if anything else would have needed to be changed under the hoode wise, Not an incredibly expensive job by the sounds of it (if i could get the engine etc) I would definatly consider it if i knew the value of the car would go up, cant see the point in wasting my money even though i have quite grown to like the 1.1's.

You will never get your money back on something like this, honestly no matter how much ice or engine or styling has occurred the car will still never be worth much more than £3k... its a sad fact but you will never get back what you put in. I picked my car up for £750 and since then I have spent just under 1k on it and it is now worth a whopping £500 lol.... but its what you make, so if you want to do it for YOU, then go ahead its nice to learn these things, I certainly enjoyed fitting my engine and ets2k9's even though his was harder lol.... The only thing you need worry about with the 1.1 conversion is matching the engine loom to the car loom, which isn't an overly difficult task and you can use the original cars dash loom and clocks, but an upgrade would be better. Oh and start thinking about brakes! especially if you have 3stud
