Strange things with battery light

   Hi guys my partners car has a strange problem, I had the alternator go last year and changed it for a brand new one, recently though the battery ligh has been coming on but really dim not like it was when it went last time, it kinda flashes at some points dim to bright sort of thing then it can go of completely, I've tested voltage at battery wich is around 12 with engine of and 14 with engine running, have also tested at alternator and gave 14v again, have checked all connections they are fine have had to change the battery lead one on alternator though but it's all secure and making contact, someone said it could be battery but it has one of them light things on it and that's green, so I'm lost for ideas now guys any help will be much appreciated, it's a 2002 1.1i forte

   alternator belt tension ok?

   As far as I know yes no squealing or any thing and it seems right not too tight but not too loose if u know what I mean lol

   hmm. Does it flicker/come on more at high revs (I mean high too - close to the limiter)? If so, can only really be a dodgy alternator which as you only bought it last year, isn't what you want to hear.

   I don't tbh last time I drive it that hard I got a right telling off lol but so much slower then my vtr ah ha, last time I drive it it was on and off all the time really but it does flicker and if you put indicator on say it flashes on when the indecator light flashes off its a strange experience I'll tell you that any way I can easily check alternator?

   My battery light sometimes comes on when my car is idleing no idea why but it goes off again as soon as I start driving its intermittent though

   Re-check your connections,either that or its the diode pack on the alternator failing.

   yeh mines intermitant aswell ill re check connections and then have a look into that diode pack thanks guys!
