Engine noise

Noise is hard to explain however I'll try my best. Only happens when car is under load such as driving up a steep hill (1500-2500 rpm) it makes a ting kind of sound... Like shaking a tin full of small stones, but it's not that loud. A video wouldn't pick up the sound but any one have any ideas what this could be?

Engine oil is at max and oil is fairly new, and the oil filter was changed at the same time... Hmm?

Not a heat shield come loose underneath is it?

As James said I think. Lose heat shield rattling on exhaust maybe, or an exhaust hanger loose perhaps.

Hmm had to do a quick google serch on this as i never herd of it :s Still don't 100% understand but would highe octane fuel solve this? or do i need a new nock censor?

Also googled my problem and it mentions something called "detonation" is this the same as pinking?

I too have this problem under load but just assumed it was pinking due to the load on the weedy engine so change down a gear for hills.

And also i Thought it was normal and was going to ignore it because the noise was so minor, I thought it was just the engine struggling. Its been doing it for a few months now and i use the car dailly (60+ miles aday) what damage could it cause?

pinking/knocking are similar yes. the Knock sensor would pick this up if it was happening (presuming the knock sensor was working correctly). It's an easy sensor to swap and cheap too so worth a punt.
