juddering and low idle

Before anybody says something yes i did search and have done a few things that other threads have mentioned and i still have my problem

So my 2002 saxo vtr i have has had a slight rough/juddery idle since i bought it.
so i had a look today to try and stop it. first of all i cleaned my idle control valve which had loads of black gunk on it, then i cleaned another sensor that was by the throttle body. no luck.

then as my tappets have been abit tappy i though why not adjust them and see if it sorts it, but since doing it my idle has got abit worse

so im thinking maybe engine coolant temp sensor? or coil pack? can i clean these to see if it sorts rather than buying new ones?

sorry for the long essay lol just want peoples opinions so i know were to start

forgot to add it idles at around 500-600rpm which is quite low i think lol

You can clean a coil off the later model pull the rubber bungs off and clean up the springs inside i have done 3 Saxo with rotten springs clean them up and problem sorted

no idea about the fuel filter, would that affect it then? my fist saxo had a problem with the engine coolant temp sensor but that would cut out.

When i was driving earlier when i stop at lights or a junction it is worse when warm and u can feel vibrations through the floor

Yes thats the later 1 mate,a clogged fuel filter will/can cause irregular fuel delivery its an outside chance but worth considering.

right guys now i have another problem not really been my day today, woke up this morning to find my tyre flat and now my eml has come on and wont go off

but after talking to my gf's dad today he looked at my tappets and adjusted them again and now its idling better.

so theres that sorted but i want the eml off now lol. so we checked some sensors and the icv works and the engine coolant sensor, but when we unplugged the 1st lambda sensor nothing happened?

ino it could be anything but my mot is tomoz and knowing my luck will fail on emmisions :/

Sounds like your lambda sensor may have had it,because the car wouldn`t run very well with a working one disconnected i`d of thought.
