new cat, eml on

   Hi all, i've just replaced cat on 1.1 w reg saxo and eml is on. My post cat sensor rusted out on the old one, so i've put a new cat and when I disconected the old sensor eml came on. I've got another sensor from breakers and after fitting it eml is still on. Is it a bad sensor or do I need to reset ecu or something? I've got mot booked tomorrow so i'm a bit woried it might fail if I don't get it sorted. Any ideas?

   Disconnect the battery for a few hours.
   
   OR borrow a code reader and delete the fault code.

   I've tried to disconnect it for few hours, didn't help, I might leave it disconnected overnight...

   I had the exact same thing happen to my vtr mate, sensor rusted out, new cat fitted by garage with old sensor put back in then EML flashed up, fitted brand new sensor myself and the light stayed on for two days, then cleared and been fine for a week or so now

   it will clear itself after 40 stops and starts

   I left battery disconnected overnight and on the way to work light was still on, half hour later I started it to go to mot garage and it was off. That was 4th drive not 40th since fitting the sensor. Fingers crossed now that it passes mot :-)
