It depends on the police in the area like i red from Bedford that his had cars in his work as they had there MOT taken away and had to be re tested because of HIDS. Around my area police dont seem to be to fussed as such alot of people have them inc me i work nights and have them on 2-3 hours a night and seen loads of police in lay bys over taken them etc.. Nothing yet.

They're illegal - it doesn't depend on the police. Da law is da LAW. That just dictates if you get stopped or not.

Yep there illegal but you can still risk it and get away with it depending on what you area police are like. But you have to take them off to pass mot.

And the higher the k the bluer/ purpler it'll be.

And hid' s are so annoying to other drivers if you don't have projector lights as they scatter light all over the place and blind other drivers...

Plus although it won`t go down too well with some peeps,I hate them fed up with being blinded at night by them.

Putting HID bulbs in a halogen housing (the cheap way) just blinds everyone you drive past. Don't do it.

just buy good quality bulbs, avoid blue nastyness, clean your earth points, make sure the alternator is charging properly and your battery is healthy.

if you really want better lights, fit these.

Your dad and uncle both drive saxo's also? Keepin' it in the family bro.

An MOT doesn't test it's legality.

Take it for an IVA test and see how it gets on

No lol 306 gti6 and navara

if you run them on stock lights, your likely to get pulled and will blind allot of people.
however if you run HID's in projector lensed lights then its allot more controlled.
if you get HID's get some projectors too. More effective
8000k your pushing it quite blue

HID lights are legal ONLY if you fit type approved lighting units for your car - which is usually very expensive.

4500k is like normal halogen any more than 6000k is chavvy blue and under 4500 gets yellow.

    spot lamps ftw!
