idle problems

    when my saxo is idling the revs drop off and then jump back up and it keeps doing this for a while if i rev the engine its stops for a little bit but will start agin any one have any ideas what it could b

    Idle control valve. Common issue. Search on the site there is an cleaning guide. If not could be a dodgy coil pack, again common problem.

    does it only do it when its cold? if so can be a faulty e.c.t if it does it when warm most likely an i.c.v
