Car started over heating, temp gauge went to the top

Looked under my car and it feels like water leaking from the back of the engine

Any ideas on a quick fix? I live 30+ miles away from where am now

Sounds like a hose may have split.... If you have a torch roll up your sleeves and have a good look and feel

If it is a split hose I would do my best to seal the issue but be very wary driving with it and keep a very close eye on temp gauge and carry a fair few litres of water with you.... Sorry to say this but could be a long night for you

    Hope you get home ok

Aa have brung me home, is it the lower radiator pipe?

5er on the lower rad pipe has come out of the little clips and the alt belt has worn through it.

The rad pipe hard to change?

Nope - just a tad fiddly at the back of the engine.

If it is that pipe of course - i'm sure you'll spot it in the light

(I have a few 8v hoses too btw)

Were you hoping the leak would fix itself?

No good telling us it's still leaking. Find out where. It's easy enough to see down the back of an 8valve block.

    BINGOOOOOOOOO

So you need a 8v bottom rad hose? - I'll have a look in 10 mins when i'm back!

Does it come out of the bottom left, as your looking at it?

    If so yes!

Yes, and follows the lower part of the drivers arch up into the back of the engine block.

And be very careful removing it from the plastic connector thingy on the back of the block. It'll be tight, and the plastic will be very brittle...... They're prone to breaking.

The pipe is already disconnected from the block :/ I'm waiting for my friend to bring his axle stands before I go under and look properly
